The Historical Sew Monthly 2015 #7: 19th century Turban

 

For July challenge I decided to make turban matching to this my regency dress:

 

 

What the item is : Turban

The Challenge: Accessorise

Fabric: cotton

Pattern: I made it using guidance from this tutorial:

Year: first half of 19^th century

Notions: cotton thread, decorative ribbon, beads

How historically accurate is it? It looks pretty close, but I'm not sure about the technique and it's machine-sewn.

Hours to complete: about 8 hours

Total cost: everything was taken from the stash, but it's about 10 USD.
