I'm extremely late with my February
Historical sewing challenge which is Colour
Challenge Blue:
Make
an item that features blue, in any shade from azure to zaffre.
Anyway I decided to finish it. It's
1864 corset from “Underwear. Fashion in detail”.

Photos of my corset:
What
the item is:
1864
corset
Fabric:
silk, lined with cotton
Pattern:
I
made it myself according to images of the 1864 corset from
“Underwear. Fashion in detail”.
Year:
1864
Notions:
silk thread, spiral steel boning (9,5 meters), boning tips (80 pcs),
busk, metal eyelets, lace (from my stash).
How
historically accurate is it? It's
very close. The pattern and material are correct. Boning is modern.
Hours
to complete: 32
First
worn:
Not worn yet, only for making photos.
Total
cost: About
79 USD.
Beautiful corset!
